Adaptations
Compass: Two examples could be provided with the compass, one of which shows true north. Students will have to decide which is correct and label their compass rose.
Legend / Physical Characteristics: Students could be given a map that has the legend filled in. They could also receive a map with the symbols in place for them to create the legend.
Coordinates: Students could be given a list of coordinates telling them what the placement of the items should be.
Scale: Students could be given cut-out representations of each item. Students could then glue or tape these cut-outs in the proper location. This would be helpful if the student struggles with fine motor skills.
